Recovering a Channels app account from a Secret key (HEX code) backup cannot be completed with ‘Account not registered on blockchain’ error.
A Secret key, or a HEX code backing up a Channels app account, is a 64-symbol code presented in 8 blocks 8 symbols each.
When saved from Channels app screen, it is presented in two columns with numbered blocks, indicating their sequence.
When copied and pasted, or sent via e-mail the code is presented as a string:
262b7e08 ade9fc59 69e1ad45 b39fe4a9 262b7e08 ade9fc59 69e1ad45 b39fe4a9
But when recovering an account from backup, there is a two-column unnumbered form to enter the code to:
It is therefore easy to enter the code in a wrong sequence, e.g. 1-3-5-7-2-4-6-8 instead of 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8, which is a typical reason a Secret key (HEX code) cannot be associated with the respective ID on EON blockchain and hence is not accepted, resulting in app returning the 'Account not registered on blockchain' error.
